Ignacio Montes, MD
Ignacio Montes, MD was born in Manizales, Colombia, South America, and is board certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology.
He trained in Internal Medicine at the University of Caldas, in his hometown. In 1988 he moved with his family to Norfolk, Virginia, where he became Chief Medical Resident at the department of Internal Medicine of the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Hampton, Virginia. He moved to Winston Salem, North Carolina, in order to attend Wake Forest University and receive training in Hematology and Oncology.
After three years of private practice in North Carolina, he moved to Louisville, where he joined the practice at CBC Group. His main areas of interest are supportive care in cancer, as well breast cancer, malignancies of the genitourinary tract and lymphomas.
