Michael D. Kommor, MD

Michael D. Kommor, MD, is a hematologist/oncologist who has practiced in Louisville, Kentucky since 1991. 

He received his BA degree from the University of Kentucky in 1981 and had previously attended the University of Chicago.  He graduated from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 1985.  He did his internship and residency in Internal Medicine followed by a three-year fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at the Medical University of South Carolina.  There he worked in the Basic Research Division in the study of leukemic cell lines and enhancing their sensitivity to chemotherapy.  He was also involved there in numerous clinical trials for the CALGB.

Since returning to Louisville and joining the CBC group in 1991, Dr. Kommor has continued pursuing clinical research with involvement in clinical trials under the auspices of the NSABP, CALGB, and the Sarah Cannon Cancer Center.

Dr. Kommor is a member of the American Society of Hematology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Medical Association, Kentucky Medical Association, and the Louisville Society of Internists.
