U. Geetha Joseph, MD is an Oncologist/Hematologist who has been in practice in Louisville since 1988. She is board certified in Internal Medicine as well as in Hematology and Medical Oncology.
She received her MD degree in 1979 from the University of Madras, India and then worked for two years in Clinical Pathology. She completed her residency and fellowship at the University of Louisville from 1982 to 1988. Following this, she joined the faculty at the University, teaching and doing patient care and research. She was promoted to Associate Professor of Medicine and director of the Fellowship Training program at the University of Louisville from 1994-96.
She joined Consultants in Blood Disorders and Cancer in 1996 and is currently an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine affiliated with the University of Louisville. Dr. Joseph continues to be very interested in clinical research and along with her partners is active in national cooperative research groups such as the CALGB, NSABP, and Sarah Cannon Cancer Center research network.
She is a member of the American Society of Hematology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American College of Physicians and the Kentucky Medical Association. She has served on the board of Hospice and is involved with Health Promotions with Jefferson County Public Schools.
